๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ Work with Framework

โ˜๏ธ Bun 0.8.0 is out, waiting for 1.0

No, it’s not a framework, nor is it a language. It is a Run time Env. But I didn’t create a category for that, so let’s keep it in this one for now.

un v0.8.0 adds debugger support, implements fetch streaming, and unblocks SvelteKit. ReadStream and WriteStream from node:tty are implemented, and .setRawMode() now works on process.stdin, unblocking several interactive CLI tools. Plus Node.js compatibility updates, bug fixes, and stability improvements.

FYI, Bun 1.0 is scheduled to be released on September 7th. You can register for the launch stream at https://bun.sh/1.0.

๐Ÿ’ป Code Llama, AI Code Generator from Meta ๐Ÿฅฝ

Meta has announced the Code Llama an LLM for Coding. You can say it is similar to GitHub co-pilot.

Code Llama is an LLM capable of generating code, and natural language about code, from both code and natural language prompts. It is built on top of Llama 2, a recently open-source LLM model from the model. It will be free for research and commercial use, so no license hassle in your organization.

It is available in three models as described in the announcement post:

  • Code Llama, the foundational code model;
  • Codel Llama – Python specialized for Python;
  • and Code Llama – Instruct, which is fine-tuned for understanding natural language instructions.
