😡 Unity Game Devs Furious after “Unity Runtime Fee”

The game development using Unity as a game engine will be costlier after the latest announcements from the company behind the Unity Game Engine.

Starting in January 2024, the company will charge what it’s calling a “Unity Runtime Fee”. This “Fee” will be based on the number of users installing games based on the stated engine. The company provided a list of various fees based on different counts.

However, the company also announced that they will add cloud-based asset storage, Unity DevOps tools, and AI at runtime at no extra cost to Unity subscription plans this November.
